Certain Ukrainian pensioners may receive a monthly supplement ranging from 908 to 1038 UAH. This pertains to pensions for special merits to Ukraine, which are, in particular, awarded to mothers with many children.

Mothers who have given birth to five or more children and raised them until the age of six are eligible for this supplement. The payment is added to the pension an individual already receives: for age, disability, loss of a breadwinner, or for years of service.
The amount of the supplement depends on the number of children and is calculated as a portion of the subsistence minimum for incapacitated persons. In 2026, it amounts to 2595 UAH. Accordingly, the payment amounts are as follows:
- 5 children — 908.25 UAH;
- 6 children — 934.20 UAH;
- 7 children — 960.15 UAH;
- 8 children — 986.10 UAH;
- 9 children — 1012.05 UAH;
- 10 or more children — 1038 UAH.
This means that for each subsequent child after the fifth, the supplement increases by one percentage point — from 35% to a maximum rate of 40%.

It is important to note that this is not a separate “September” payment. The new amounts are effective from January 1, 2026, following the increase in the subsistence minimum. The Pension Fund automatically recalculated pensions for special merits that were already established in accordance with the new indicator.
If a mother who was entitled to such a supplement has passed away or been deprived of parental rights, the father who raised the children until the age of six may, under certain conditions, receive this entitlement. In such cases, adopted children are also considered when determining eligibility.
Separately, mothers with many children have the option of early retirement. Women who have given birth to five or more children and raised them until the age of six can apply for a pension upon reaching 50 years of age, provided they have at least 15 years of insurance experience. Under certain circumstances, a father may also utilize this right — after reaching 55 years of age and with at least 20 years of service.
To initially establish a pension for special merits, an application and documents confirming the relevant entitlement must be submitted. This can be done at a PFU service center or online through the Pension Fund’s web portal.
The PSM editorial team points out that the automatic recalculation applies to those who have already been granted this supplement. If an individual meets the legal requirements but has not previously applied for the payment, the mere existence of eligibility does not automatically grant it — an application to the Pension Fund is required for its assignment.
